Ana Margarida de Carvalho

Ana Margarida de Carvalho* is a writer and journalist. She was born in Lisbon, where she graduated in Law. Over 25 years of experience in the press, she has written several reports, chronicles and essays, as well as contributing to film and literary criticism. She is the author of film scripts and a play, as well as novels and short story collections. Her second novel, Não se pode morar nos olhos de um gato (Dublinense, 2018) , was a finalist for best narrative fiction book by the Portuguese Society of Authors (SPA) and a finalist for the Oceanos Award, in addition to winning the Manuel de Boaventura Literary Award and the APE/DGLAB Grand Prize for Romance and Novella. Ana Margarida also wrote The Gesture We Make to Protect Our Head (Dublinense, 2024) , his third novel, originally published in 2019 and recently published in Brazil.
