- I shot these photos on July 10, 2021 on Silveira River. Cauê, the youngest of Cristine Takuá and Carlos Papa’s children, suggested that we take a walk to a clay-sprung fresh water source. These captions are written in Takuá typeface, a font I made from Cris’s beautiful handwriting. She is an educator in her village.

- I want to re-alphabetize in Nhe’éry. Papá is the guardian of his people’s words. The Guarani language widens the awareness towards other forms of being in the world. Anna Dantes is a book editor, but her work includes other formats. Since 1994, she has created, carried out and collaborated with knowledge and memory transmission projects. For ten years, together with the Huni Kuin people in Acre, she has been running the Una Shubu Hiwea project, Livro Escola Viva. Since 2018, she has also dedicated herself to Selvagem, a cycle of studies on life, with Ailton Krenak, promoting discussion circles, study cycles, periodic publications and editing of books that seek the coexistence of indigenous, scientific and artistic knowledge.
